The Dragon of Quintus 2019
Château Quintus is located in Saint-Émilion , on the right bank of Bordeaux . The management of the château is supervised by Jean-Philippe Delmas, who also manages the Dillon estates in the wider sense. The group is led by Prince Robert of Luxembourg. The property covers 45 hectares, of which 42 hectares are planted with vines and no insecticides have been used since 2017.
The Dragon of Quintus is the second wine of the château. Its name comes from the dragon statue which is located on the estate. The 2019 is a blend of Merlot (86%) and Cabernet Franc (14%) . A careful intra-plot selection is carried out at the time of manual harvesting. Vinification takes place in wooden and stainless steel vats , with gentle extraction carried out by pumping over. The wine is aged in barrels , 33.5% of which are new.
