Château LA POINTE 2001
Château La Pointe is located in the Pomerol appellation, on the right bank of Bordeaux. The property dates from 1845, and has been controlled by the d'Arfeuille family since 1941. Since 2006, it has been owned by the Generali France insurance company. Since then, several key improvements have been made in both viticulture and winemaking.
Château La Pointe is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc . The wine is aged in oak barrels. The 2001 vintage experienced a growing season with unpredictable weather conditions, ranging from too cold to too hot with periods of intense rain followed by drought. The cold spring finally warmed up in May when a heat wave hit, but July was wet and August and September were dry.
