Château BRANE-CANTENAC 2006
Château Brane-Cantenac is located in Margaux , in the Bordeaux wine region. It was classified as Second Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification. It was founded in the 18th century by the Gorce family and has belonged to the Lurton family for four generations.
Château Brane-Cantenac 2006 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (36%) and Cabernet Franc (4%) . The vinification is carried out in wooden vats and the wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 70% of which are new. The 2006 vintage for Bordeaux experienced a cold and wet winter. However, spring brought more pleasant conditions and a hot, dry summer ensued until, in August, temperatures cooled and the rains returned. In September, an Indian summer set in and warm, sunny days prepared the grapes for harvest.
