Clos Lapeyre - Mantoulan 2016
Clos Lapeyre is located in La Chapelle de Rousse, in the Jurançon appellation. The family farm was dedicated to mixed farming with breeding, small fruits and grapes brought to the cooperative cellar. From 1985, the estate turned exclusively to viticulture under the leadership of Jean-Bernard Larrieu . The estate now covers 18 hectares, certified in organic farming since 2005. Biodynamic techniques have been implemented since 2013.
Mantoulan is the name of a locality located to the west of Clos Lapeyre: an old renowned wine-growing region, replanted in high density with traditional Jurançon grape varieties from a mass selection. It is a blend of Petit Manseng (70%), Courbu (15%) and Camaralet (15%) . After slow pressing, the slightly settled juices ferment slowly in tuns for 1 to 5 years. The wine is then aged in tuns on lees with stirring for 12 months, followed by 6 months in vats .
Grape varieties: 70% Petit Manseng, 15% Courbu, 15% Camaralet
