Les Champs Libres - White 2020
Château Grand Village is a Bordeaux Supérieur located in Mouillac, north of Fronsac, in Bordeaux . It belongs to the Guinaudeau family , owner of Château Lafleur , the Grand Cru of Pomerol. The family has been established in the region since the 17th century, but the first vintage of Grand Village did not see the light of day until 1980. The 17.8 hectare vineyard is planted mainly with red grape varieties (14 hectares), with a small plot where Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon are grown. Château Grand Village uses the same vineyard cultivation techniques as those used at Château Lafleur.
From the 2013 vintage, a new vintage produced exclusively from clones of Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre was bottled. Les Champs Libres , coming from a plot called Les Acacias, is a tiny production which demonstrates the exceptional quality of the terroir and the talent and ambition of the Grand Village team. The wine is fermented and aged entirely in new Taransaud barrels .
Grape variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
