Château Pavie - Les Arômes de Pavie 2016
Château Pavie is located in Saint-Emilion , on the right bank of the Bordeaux wine region. Originally named Premier Grand Cru Classé B in the 1955 Saint-Émilion wine classification, it was promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classé A status during the 2012 revision and renewed in 2022. Gérard Perse purchased Pavie in 1998 and implemented significant improvements to the vineyards and winery. Many vines were replanted and Michel Rolland was hired as consulting oenologist. In 2013, Château Pavie was completely renovated, with a large terrace space and work supervised by Parisian architect and decorator Alberto Pinto. Today, Château Pavie has 37 hectares of vines located on an exceptional terroir. The estate's vineyards have a coveted position, taking advantage of both the limestone rock of the plateau and the southern slope which drains excess water and benefits from excellent exposure to the sun.
Les Arômes de Pavie is the second wine of the château. It is a blend of Merlot (70%), Cabernet Franc (20%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) from young vines. The winemaking is traditional and the wine is aged for 18 to 24 months in single wine barrels .
Grape varieties: 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon
