GAZIN HOSPITAL 1997
Château Gazin is located in Pomerol , on the right bank of Bordeaux . The property belongs to the Bailliencourt dit Courcol family, descendants of the high lords of Landas, one of the oldest families of Artois (North of France) whose coat of arms they bear. Château Gazin is located on the north-eastern part of the Pomerol plateau, between Châteaux Pétrus and Lafleur-Gazin, on a terroir of Gunzian gravel and blue and green clay with iron oxides. The vines are cultivated in a traditional way with respect for the environment: plowing, organic fertilizers, reasoned control of vine pests, "sexual confusion", manual harvests, etc.
L'Hospitalet de Gazin is the second wine of the château. It was created in 1986 to separate the batches from younger plots and to express the typicality of the loamy part of the vineyard. It is a blend dominated by Merlot. 1997 is considered a good vintage in Pomerol.
Grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc
