Domaine HUET - Le Clos du Bourg - Dry 2023
Domaine Huet is located in Vouvray , in the Loire Valley. Founded in 1928 by Victor Huet and his son Gaston , the estate now has 30 hectares of Chenin Blanc planted on three plots: Haut-Lieu, Mont and Clos du Bourg . Huet was one of the pioneers of biodynamic farming in 1988.
During the harvest, the bunches are picked in successive passes and at optimum maturity according to the desired style of wine, then each plot is vinified separately. The whole bunches are put into the presses without crushing or grinding where they are gently pressed. After a settling which lasts 24 hours, the grape juice is put into two parts: one is put into vats, the other into old barrels. The fermentation time varies according to the richness of the must and the activity of the indigenous yeasts. Each vintage is kept for 6 months until bottling.
The Le Clos du Bourg plot was acquired by the Huet family in 1953. It now covers 6 hectares and its soil, which is not very thick, is composed of clay and limestone resting on a tuffeau subsoil.
Grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc
