Château TALBOT 2022
Château Talbot is a property in the Saint-Julien du Médoc appellation of Bordeaux . It was classified as a 4th Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 Bordeaux classification. The Château takes its name from the Constable Talbot, an English soldier and governor of Guyenne who was defeated in battle by the French at Castillon in 1453. For the past century, it has been owned by members of the Cordier family . The Château is located in the centre of the Cru Classé vineyard area, within the grounds of the Léoville estates. The 107-hectare vineyard extends north to the border with Pauillac, all but 5 hectares of which are planted with red varieties (66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot and 8% Petit Verdot).
Château Talbot 2022 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Merlot (25%) and Petit Verdot (5%) . The grapes are harvested manually and sorted by hand and by optical machine. Fermentation takes place in oak vats, followed by 15 months of aging in oak barrels, 60% of which are new.
