Domaine Naudin-Ferrand is located in Magny-les-Villers, in the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy . Claire Naudin took over the estate in 1994. A follower of sustainable viticulture and integrated production, she rejects standardization and prefers an approach artisanal sustainable viticulture, with minimal interventionism but without certification for organic or biodynamic agriculture. The estate covers approximately 22 hectares of vines, with some vintages such as Echezeaux, Aloxe, Ladoix, Nuit-Saint-Georges and the rest in appellations regional.
Orchis Mascula is part of Claire Naudin's "Fleur" series. This Pinot Noir comes from 3 plots: En Foigery, En Bully and La Grande Corvée de Bully, from vines that are on average 30 years old. Harvested by hand, the Grapes are vinified in whole bunches without pumping over. The free-run wine is blended with the press wine after a 2-week maceration. The wine is aged in 228-litre barrels, with a small proportion of new oak, for 12 months . The Sulfur is only used during bottling.
