Domaine du Coulet - Matthieu Barret - Black Marbles 2021
Domaine du Coulet is located in Cornas , in the Rhone Valley. It has belonged to Matthieu Barret since 1998. It offers two distinct ranges of wines that are produced on the same convictions: the "Domaine" range which comes exclusively from grapes from the Domaine du Coulet vineyard, very oriented towards the expression of minerality and the terroirs of Cornas. Its other range, Matthieu Barret SARL , is based on sharing with other producers. The way of creating the different selections is multiple and depends on its partners, their desires and the finality which must be as close as possible to the vineyard. The vine is worked in organic and biodynamic culture .
Billes Noires is made from Syrah whose vines are 65 years old, grown on granite soil at an altitude of 320 meters. The harvest is destemmed and then punched down once a day during fermentation, which lasts 3 weeks. No additives are added. The wine is aged for 12 months in 10-year-old barrels of 400 and 500 liters, and 1 year in ovoid concrete vats and diamond vats. To be enjoyed from 5 years old.
Grape variety: 100% Syrah
