Chateau Ducluzeau 2018
Chateau Ducluzeau is located in Listrac-Médoc , in the Bordeaux wine region. It has been owned by the Borie family since 1740. Unusually for the region, and due to its soils and climate, Chateau Ducluzeau has always been dominated by Merlot. The 13 hectares of vineyards are divided into several parcels, with notable differences between them in terms of relief and soil type. Most of the parcels are located on the main plateau of Listrac. These have light soils of gravel and clay on the top layer and a mixture of gravel and clay-limestone below. The average age of the vines is 35 years.
The wine is a blend of Merlot (95%) and Petit Verdot (5%) . It is aged for 12 months in single-wine barrels (80%) and new oak barrels (20%).
Grape varieties: 95% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot
