House Les Alexandrins - Cabanon - Syrah 2022
"Domaine & Maison Les Alexandrins" was born from the association of three figures from the Northern Rhône Valley: Nicolas Jaboulet , 6th generation of a family of winegrowers established in Tain l'Hermitage since 1834, Guillaume Sorrel , son of Marc Sorrel of Domaine Sorrel en Hermitage, and Alexandre Caso , the specialist in the terroirs of the Northern Rhône Valley. In 2014, Alexandre and Guillaume's desire to promote the wines of Domaine Les Alexandrins and Nicolas's desire to anchor Maison Nicolas Perrin in the heart of the Northern Rhône Valley led the 3 men to collaborate more and more closely.
The Maison Les Alexandrins wines are more modern in their approach and more contemporary in their style. The northern vintages are declined, based on exceptional terroirs unearthed by Alexandre Caso, specialist in the terroirs of the North of the Rhone Valley.
Cabanon Rouge is a blend of Syrah (95%) and Viognier (5%) . The vines are planted in the communes of Beaumont Monteux and Pont de l'Isère on the right bank in areas where the Rhone pebbles are very present, and on the Ardèche plateaux. The harvest date is determined according to the maturity of each grape variety. Upon arrival in the cellar, the grapes are destemmed. A cold pre-fermentation is carried out in order to extract the aromas of red fruits and violets. After maceration, the must ferments for around fifteen days. Pumping over and trapping are carried out. The wine is then aged in stainless steel vats to preserve the freshness and fruitiness of the wine.
Grape varieties: 95% Syrah, 5% Viognier
