Château Larrivet Haut-Brion 2014
Château Larrivet Haut-Brion is located in Pessac-Léognan , in the Bordeaux wine region. The estate has had several names over the years, including Château de Canolle, La Rivette, Brion-Larrivet and Haut-Brion Larrivet, taking its name from current name in 1929. Its new owner, Mr. Guillemaud, acquired the entire vineyard in 1941. He maintained it with rigor and attention until 1982. In 1987, Philippe and Christine Gervoson took over the property. In 2007, Bruno Lemoine took over as general manager of Château Larrivet Haut-Brion and, as an agronomist, began a soil study to better understand the mosaic of terroirs and improve the quality of the wines. The vineyard now covers 75 hectares .
Château Larrivet Haut-Brion 2014 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (48%), Merlot (45%) and Cabernet Franc (7%) . The average age of the vines is 35 years. After the manual harvest, the harvest is sorted on the table before being destemmed and then sorted on a laser optical line. Vinification takes place by plots in concrete vats. Maceration lasts 4 to 10 weeks with regular punching down. The wine is aged for 14 to 18 months in new oak barrels (1 /3), barrels of one wine (1/3) and barrels of two wines (1/3) .
