Beaumont Family Wines - Chenin Blanc 2024
Beaumont Family Wines is located in the heart of the town of Bot River in the Overberg region of South Africa 's Cape South Coast. The farm was established in the 1700s by the Dutch East India Company, producing fruit, vegetables, dairy, wine, and flour. Jayne and Raoul Beaumont purchased the farm in 1974 and began replanting the vines. Since 2015, Sebastian Beaumont (the eldest son) and his wife Nici have taken over management of the property. Their approach to winemaking is instinctive, honoring the old, low-yielding Chenin Blanc and Pinotage vines, allowing the wines to be a true reflection of the land and vineyards.
Chenin Blanc is made from vines aged between 3 and 49 years old. It is vinified in concrete and stainless steel vats with a combination of natural and cultivated yeasts. The wine is aged for 4 months on lees .
Grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc
