Kracher - Trockenbeerenauslese - TBA No. 7 - Welschriesling 2010
Weingut Kracher is located in Seewinkel, in the Burgenland region of Austria . The estate was founded in 1959 by Alois Kracher Senior. Initially a mixed farming operation, Alois Senior gradually shifted the focus to viticulture, recognizing the region's potential for producing high-quality sweet wines. Since 2007, Gerhard Kracher , representing the third generation, has been running the estate. Weingut Kracher is particularly famous for its sweet wines, especially Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA) . The estate's location near Lake Neusiedl provides ideal conditions for the growth of Botrytis cinerea, or noble rot, which is essential for the production of these wines. From the grape varieties Welschriesling, Chardonnay, Traminer, Scheurebe, Muscat-Ottonel and occasionally Zweigelt, Kracher creates 10 to 15 different Trockenbeerenauslese wines each year in two different winemaking styles: Nouvelle Vague and Zwischen Den Seen. The wines in the Nouvelle Vague range are vinified in new barrels.
The 2010 TBA No. 7 is made from Welshriesling . It is fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for 20 months. It contains 245.9 g/L of residual sugar.
Grape variety: 100% Welshriesling
