Domaine Muriel Giudicelli - Red 2021
Domaine Giudicelli is located in the commune of Poggio d'Oletta in the Patrimonio appellation, in the north of Corsica . It has been run by Muriel Giudicelli since 1997. Originally from the south-east of Corsica, Muriel did not immediately turn to viticulture and obtained a BTS in agriculture related to cattle, then a diploma in communication and sociology. Helped by Antoine Arena, Muriel Giudicelli established her estate on 5 hectares and went to train in several French regions with talented winemakers. In 2005, her husband Stéphane joined her on the estate. Today, the 11-hectare estate is spread over a diversity of terroirs (clay, granite, schist, etc.) and has been managed using certified biodynamic methods since 2012.
Hand-picked grapes allow for strict berry selection, discarding between 15 and 20% of the grapes. Vinification begins spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, and no oenological products are added. White and rosé wines are subject to slow direct pressing, and red wines are made from infused macerations. Aging is long, in stainless steel vats or Austrian Stockinger casks for red wines.
Grape variety: 100% Niellucciu
