Le Clos du Jaugueyron is located in the Médoc, in Bordeaux. At the age of 20, Michel Théron left Minervois and his parents' vineyard and settled in the Médoc, where he met Stéphanie Destruhaut. Today, they manage 16 plots in the Margaux and Haut-Médoc appellation. Organic and biodynamic farming have gradually imposed themselves on all the plots. The vineyards of the estate are on two main soils: Sur Macau for Haut-Médoc and Sur Arsac for Margaux; diverse geological profiles and different climates.
The grapes are harvested manually, at good maturity with little use of sulfur in the cellar. The tanks of different capacities are used to isolate plots and grape varieties. The vinification is carried out in concrete tanks and the wines are then aged in barrels for around 12 months and then again in tanks before bottling.
