A Castillon located three rows of Saint-Emilion Grands Crus vines, vinified by Louis Mitjavile, son of the famous owner of Tertre Roteboeuf. The 19-hectare estate is made up of 85% Merlot and Cabernet Franc on clay-limestone soils. Louis specializes in growing Merlot. He only keeps the lowest bunches that arrive, ripen and are harvested at the same time. The Mitjavile touch is also a specific breeding, with barrels made and heated just for them.
L'Aurage 2009: with notes of cherries and blackberries, coffee. The palate is rich, warm, with lots of substance and persistence. The wood is perfectly mastered here and the tannins are silky. Haute couture, a modern style, a sure value.
