MACALLAN - Sienna - 43%
Whiskey from the 1824 series of Macallan Single Malts, this " Sienna " edition refers to the ocher color of the land of Siena in Italy.
Like all whiskeys in the 1824 range, this edition is the result of finesse maturation in sherry casks. Indeed, Sienna benefits from an aging of 50% Spanish oak sherry barrels and 50% American oak sherry barrels which are essentially first fill barrels.
"Today, all true Single Malt connoisseurs know perfectly well that it is not the declaration of age that is the guarantee of an excellent whiskey but the art of its perfect maturation" explains Bob Dalgarno - whiskey creator for Macallan.
The taste of this Single Malt is distinguished by its vanilla and fruity character including date, fig and raisins. It also has a nice color.
