A dense Anjou that reveals finesse and precision, at the height of Clau de Nell, an estate acquired by the late Burgundian, Anne-Claude Leflaive. Anne-Claude Leflaive fell in love with this terroir in Anjou, giving powerful and well-balanced wines like this Cuvée Violette. The winegrower of Puligny-Montrachet had therefore come to the Loire to put her experience and talent into practice.
Clau de Nell quickly became a benchmark, notably thanks to this Violette cuvée. The nose of this 2016 vintage is racy with notes of ripe black fruits, earth, graphite and violet. The palate is structured, concentrated and juicy. The finish is long on the freshness and elegant tannins.
This biodynamic wine is a blend made from Cabernet Franc (or Breton) and Cabernet Sauvignon.
