LA PORTE SAINT JEAN - Sylvain Dittière - Les Cormiers 2016
The Saumur Les Cormiers cuvée is made from 40-year-old vines recovered in 2012 from clay-limestone and flint soils. Aging for 30 months and indigenous yeasts.
Which class ! Complex nose, floral, spicy, raspberry in a Burgundian style .... Very intense in the mouth, great freshness with an impressive touch of mouth, silky and delicate ... A great wine for those who will know how to wait a little. ..
The estate is starting to make a solid reputation on the web, on Michelin-starred restaurants and on export markets. Sylvain Dittière is the son-in-law of Charly Foucault (Clos Rougeard).
"Talented in his thirties, Sylvain Dittière worked at the Gaubys, at Thierry Germain, at Château Yvonne and at Clos Rougeard, where he was linked to the Foucault family. This very serious apprenticeship naturally led him to settle in 2011. in Montreuil Bellay, in an old and very cool cellar, perfect for long aging which is its trademark. Original, the range includes a sauvignon blanc on clay-sandy soils, aged 14 months in barrels, and a chenin, the Perlée , which has spent 24 months in barrels. Very mastered, the two reds offer gripping flavors and a remarkable frankness of expression, patinated by aging with great precision and requirement. This estate made a remarkable entry in our guide this year. . " - PORTRAIT FROM THE 2017 GUIDE OF THE REVUE DU VIN DE FRANCE
