La Ferme des 7 Lunes (Jean Delobre) - Pleine Lune 2016 Saint-Joseph
La Ferme des 7 Lunes (Jean Delobre) - Full Moon - BIODYNAMY 2016
Polyculture and viticulture are the two “breasts” of the Ferme des 7 Lunes. The exemplary approach of Jean Delobre, for 3 decades, today makes him one of the most inspired and inspiring winemakers of the Northern Rhône.
Located on the right bank of the Rhône in the northern part of the Saint-Joseph appellation, the Delobre farm, in addition to apricot trees, fields and meadows, includes a small vineyard that Jean has been developing from 1984.
The harvest is then delivered to the cooperative cellar, within which he participates in a group of winegrowers who are moving towards organic and biodynamic cultivation (certification in 1997), before taking autonomy in 2001 and adopting the evocative name. of Ferme des 7 Lunes.
The estate soon reached 6.5 ha of vines, on the characteristic granite soil where, of course, Syrah largely dominates, available in Saint-Joseph and Vin de France.
Quietly but with determination, Jean Delobre has refined over the years his thinking and his practices in the search for “naturalness”:
cultivation without inputs, work with horses on the sloping plots, gentle vinification, abandonment of the addition of sulfur. And today he is certainly one of the most inspired and inspiring wines of the Northern Rhône.
