GIANFRANCO SOLDERA - BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO RISERVA 2006
The Brunello Soldera is aged for five years in large Slavonian oak barrels, away from any noise, temperature and smells in the new cellar, built to provide optimal conditions for aging.
Gianfranco Soldera produces, always with his Sangiovese grapes, the IGT "Intistieti" wine whose aging in barrels has a shorter duration than the Brunello wine grapes. The wine is made only in vats and oak barrels. We do not control the temperature, are not added yeast or any other. On the contrary, we do a lot of replacements, the sampling continues and the University of Florence carries out continuous microbiological controls.
Vandalism in one of the companies of the unknown Brunello di Montalcino (Si) entered the cellar of the Lower Case estate destroying all wine production from 2007 to 2012, approximately 600 hectoliters. This was reported by the WineNews site having been confirmed by Gianfranco Soldera, owner of the domain. The vandalism raid dates back to the night of December 3. From the cellar there would have been no theft of bottles, wine or other property, but the destruction of barrels and lightning.
Before being put on the market the Brunello di Montalcino must be at least five years old in the cellar: the act of vandalism, which covered the quantity of the harvests going from 2007 to 2012, then destroyed all the production of the six last years.
