Domaine Alain Graillot is located in the Crozes-Hermitage appellation area, in the commune of Pont de l'Isère, a few kilometers south of Tain l'Hermitage. The vinification and aging facilities are located in the middle of the vines, at a place called Les Chênes Verts.
The soils are made up of alluvium from the Rhône and Isère with sands, very little earth and a lot of round pebbles which make them very filtering. The Domaine Alain Graillot vineyard has 20 hectares of vines, spread over 2.7 hectares planted in white (80% Marsanne and 20% Roussanne) of relatively young vines (25 years) and 17.3 hectares in red entirely in Syrah, ranging from 15 to 60 years old.
The cultivation methods of Domaine Alain Graillot are traditional but oriented towards low yields, short pruning and light manuring. No herbicides are used, the soils being exclusively worked with the plow, in order to promote deep rooting. The harvest is manual and as a general rule not destemmed.
