PETRAKOPOULOS - Classic Robola of Kefalonia 2018
Petrakopoulos Winery is located in Kefalonia, an island in the Ionian Sea, west of mainland Greece.
Brothers Nikos and Panayis Petrakopoulos have continued a family tradition of years and the winery has been operating since 2002, experimenting with small quantities, mainly wines from local varieties such as Robola, Mavrodaphne, and Zakynthino.
For years, Petrakopoulos Winery has been experimenting with various vinification techniques, trying different approaches to the Kefalonian varieties that seem to appreciate it. Robola of Petrakopoulos Winery from Theramonas redefines the variety with a different approach that fully expresses the character and the terroir in which it is grown. The vineyard is at an altitude of 600 meters, it has a gravelly terrain, and among the vines, thyme and wild herbs grow, hence the name Thymari Petras (thyme of stone). Vinification is as natural as possible to highlight the impressive virtues of Robola and its unique terroir. By remaining for 6 months on its fine lees it acquires an exuberant buttery feeling and a fuller body.
Grape variety: 100% Robola
