Domaine Benoit Ente - Bourgogne Chardonnay 2018
Benoit Ente is a Burgundy winemaker based in Puligny-Montrachet, he is the brother of Arnaud Ente. The history of the estate dates back to 1990, when Benoit and his aunt took over the vines from their grandparents. The fruits were then sold to traders until 1997. Until 2013, Benoit managed about 3 hectares of vines, but he doubled his production in 2013 when his aunt retired. The estate now operates around 20 parcels covering around 6 hectares. Partisan of sustainable viticulture, Benoit maintains the soil of the vines without weedkiller or chemical fertilizer, the protection of the vineyard is organic.
Benoit Ente's Chardonnay comes from 5 plots planted from 1995 to 2013. The vinification lasts 18 months: during the first 12 months, the juices are partly stored under wood and partly tank. The last 6 months, the wines of the same appellation are assembled in tanks to be refined then they are clarified without filtration.
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
