Domaine Elian Da Ros - Le vin est une fête 2018
The Domaine Elian Da Ros is located in Cocumont in the Côtes du Marmandais, on the left bank of the Garonne. Elian Da Ros, son of a farmer, dreamed of being a winemaker from his childhood and began studying viticulture and oenology at the age of 14. After working in Alsace for 5 years, he returned to his region of origin and built his winery. In 1998, he signed his first vintage. Today, the estate covers 19 hectares, certified in organic farming since 2000, and biodynamic since 2002.
Le Vin est Fête is a blend of Abouriou (40%), Cabernet Franc (40%) and Merlot (20%). Merlot and Cabernet Franc are destemmed, then vatted in concrete vats open between 8 and 10 days. The extractions are gentle. The Abouriou is vatted in whole bunches and vinified in semi-carbonic maceration. Aging lasts 10 months in casks and barrels of several wines, then one month in concrete tanks.
To make up for two consecutive years of hail, Elian Da Ros buys a small quantity of grapes from a winegrower friend, intended only for the cuvée Le Vin est Fête, which is therefore not certified in organic farming.
Grape varieties: 40% Abouriou, 40% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot
