Domaine DU JAUGARET - Vin de France - Magnum 2014
Domaine du Jaugaret is located in Saint-Julien, Bordeaux. The family estate was taken over in 1983 by Jean-François Fillastre. The vineyard consists of 7 to 8 plots over 1.32 hectares. He cultivates Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, some old vines of Malbec and Petit Verdot. He is one of those rare winegrowers to produce natural wines in this appellation area, so that some of his wines have been downgraded to Vin de France.
The harvest is mechanically destemmed, then placed in vats for a more or less long maceration. A ratchet press is used to get the press wine. Generally, the aging of the wines lasts three years. In good years, he can produce between 3,000 and 5,000 bottles per year.
