TENUTA PERANO - Chianti Classico 2015
The history of the Frescobaldi family starts over a thousand years ago and is closely connected with the history of Tuscany, in Italy. For 700 years, the Frescobaldi Family has combined tradition, experience and innovation. Frescobaldi represents the true diversity of Tuscany and its six estates, Nipozzano, CastelGiocondo, Pomino, Ammiraglia, Castiglioni and Remole, are all located in the most suitable areas for the production of fine wines. Ornellaia, Masseto, Luce Della Vite, Danzante and Attems (Friuli) are also part of the Frescobaldi Group. The main vision of Frescobaldi is to represent the diversity of its terroirs, while using sustainable cultivation of the land.
The Perano Estate is located in the heart of Chianti Classico in Gaiole. The vineyards are located 500 meters above sea level, well above the altitude common for red variety grapes, especially Sangiovese with its late maturation phase.
This Chianti Classico 2015 is made predominantly with Sangiovese and complemented by others grape varieties. It is matured for 24 months in barrique and steel. Much of the merit for this extraordinary vintage is to be attributed to the particularly hot summer, which featured only two minor rainfalls in the middle of August.
