RUM HSE - Aged rum - Sauternes Finish - Château La Tour Blanche - 41%
HSE (Habitation Saint Etienne) was known under the name of Habitation La Maugée and dates from 1863. It was then a Martiniquaise sugar refinery, but Amedée Aubery converted it into a distillery when he bought it in 1882. This young Captain of Industry then modernized the buildings and supplied the estate with energy thanks to the Lézarde river, which is still used today to dilute the sugar cane juice.
In 1994, Yves and José Hayot bought the property after the receivership of the former owners and carried out new renovations in the house. The property is then classified as a Historic Monument. Saint-Etienne rum is distilled in a traditional Creole-type copper column from the Simon distillery located in François (Martinique). This HSE Sauternes Finish Château La Tour Blanche rum is part of the range of extra-old rums "Les finitions du Monde". After a traditional 8-year aging in oak barrels, this old rum was placed in ex-Sauternes casks of Château La Tour Blanche, 1er Cru Classé of Sauternes, for 1 year. This is the last vintage: the 2013!
