Domaine Morey Coffinet - Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint Jean 2019
Domaine Morey-Coffinet is located in Chassagne-Montrachet, in Burgundy. It was created in 1978 by the merger of Domaine Marc Morey and Domaine Fernand Coffinet. The vineyard is operated by Thibault Morey, from a family of winegrowers. Most of the vineyard is found in Chassagne-Montrachet with some Premiers Crus La Romanée, En Remilly and Caillerets as well as a Premier Cru plot in Puligny-Montrachet and another 13 ares on the Grand-Cru Bâtard-Montrachet. Maison Morey-Coffinet buys grapes or must for the elaboration of the cuvées. All the vines are cultivated using biodynamic methods, with organic certification.
The Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos Saint Jean comes from the locality of the same name of 0.20 hectares. The Pinot Noir vines were planted in 1978. Aging lasts 14 months in 228-litres oak barrels, with 50% new oak.
