Domaine ABBATUCCI - Valle di Nero - Rosé 2020
Located South of Corsica, in the heart of the Taravo Valley and at an altitude of about 100 meters, Domaine Abbatucci is one of the oldest vineyards on the island. Composed mainly of iconic varieties such as Vermentino, Sciacarello or Nielluccio, the 20-hectare estate is home to a unique collection of 18 varieties of endemic varieties that contribute to the preservation of the island’s wine heritage.
The vineyard and vinification techniques are in line with the principles of biodynamics since 2000, with, among other things, only manual harvesting and the use of indigenous yeasts.
Valle di Nero Rosé is made from Carcajolo Nero grown on granite arenas facing North and North-West. Jean-Charles Abbatucci works biodynamics with an influence of phytotherapy practices: plowing with horses and mastery of winter grassing with his flock of sheep. The hand-picked grapes are then meticulously sorted and received by gravity. The harvest is put in direct pressing with static settling from 24 to 48 hours. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in 600 liter demi-muid. Aging lasts 6 months on total lees.
