RENEGADE - Pre Cask - Dunfermline Pot Still - 50%
Renegade Rum Distillery is the newest project from the man behind the renaissance of Islay’s Bruichladdich Single Malt whisky and Ireland’s terroir-driven Waterford Distillery: Mark Reynier. He chose Grenada because of its wide range of altitudes, microclimates and soils. Working with agricultural partners at CaneCo, he was able to grow numerous varieties of sugar cane across the island on the various terroirs. Old and young, skilled or amateur, numerous Grenadians have learned new skills, mastered modern machinery, and transformed parts of the island into farms full of high quality sugar cane.
Dunfermline Pot Still comes from a variety called Lacalome Red (B80689) harvested between November 9 and 20, 2020 on the Mango Lane terroir. The fermentation of the cane lasted 3 days and the distillation took place on November 13 and 14, 2020 in a still. The rum was bottled in early July 2021 and 4,386 bottles were produced.
More information is available on the Renegade website in the "CaneCode" section with the code listed on the bottle.
