Domaine Trapet - Chapelle Chambertin 2019
Domaine Trapet Père et Fils is made up of two estates: one in Burgundy, in the town of Gevrey-Chambertin and one inAlsace. The company in its current bi-regional configuration was formed when Andrée Trapet inherited vineyards from his parents in Alsace in 2002. Her husband Jean-Louis Trapet has managed the Domaine Trapet Père et Fils in Gevrey-Chambertin since 1990, date to which he succeeded his father Jean. This last property is one of the great historic estates of the Côte de Nuits. The vineyard has 16 hectares, dominated by plots of Chambertin (1.9 hectares), Latricières-Chambertin and Chapelle-Chambertin. Both estates are operated in biodynamic viticulture.
The Chapelle-Chambertin comes from a plot of 60 ares, the oldest vine was planted in 1945. This terroir is warm, shallow and well-drained, composed of fine clays and limestone blocks flush with the ground, which makes it possible to produce fine, rich and expressive wines.
