Elephant - Orange Cocoa Gin - 40%
Elephant Gin is a Gin brand produced in Germany . It was co-founded by Robin Gerlach, Tessa Gerlach and Henry Palmer in 2013 following adventurous travels through Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa. They decided to take action and make an impact to help protect the African elephant , and back in Europe they created an African-inspired gin. 15% of profits from the bottle are donated to elephant conservation projects. In 2022, they had already donated 1 million euros to the association.
The gin is produced in small batches using the traditional Arnold Holstein copper still distillation method. The innovative blend of 14 plants (juniper berries, pimento, orange peel, lavender, elderflower, ginger, cassia bark, Leonotis Leonurus, baobab, buchu, Harpagophytum, cassia bark, Artemisia Afra and mountain pine) combines rare African ingredients with fresh hand-cut apples from the orchards surrounding the distillery. Elephant Gin labels are hand-written by a calligrapher and named after an ancient large tusked animal or elephant that its partner foundations are currently helping to protect. Bottles are custom made, sealed with natural cork and plastic free.
Elephant Orange Cocoa Gin is a variant that surprises with its aromatic complexity of organic sweet oranges from Spain and lightly roasted cocoa beans .
