Arnaldo Caprai - Rosso Montefalco 2018
Arnaldo Caprai is located in Montefalco , Umbria, Italy . The estate was founded in 1971 by Arnaldo Caprai, a businessman specializing in textiles. He initially bought a 5 hectare piece of land in Montefalco and immediately began to expand his vineyard. His son Marco Caprai, who took over in 1988, is widely credited with establishing the estate as Sagrantino di Montefalco's first major producer. Environmental protection , rational use of energy, innovation and change are the basis of Caprai's business strategies. The Arnaldo Caprai Company, knowing and deeply loving the Montefalco region, is also committed to recovering local cultural identity and territorial origins.
The Montefalco Rosso is a blend of Sangiovese (70%), Sagrantino (15%) and Merlot (15%) . The wine is aged 12 months in French oak barrels , then at least 4 months in bottle. Its aging potential is 6 to 8 years.
