Clos Canarelli - Red 2020
Clos Canarelli is located in Figari , in the south of Corsica . The family estate was taken over by Yves Canarelli in 1992. Passionate about ampelography, Yves Canarelli took the initiative to replant almost extinct local grape varieties: Minustellu, Carcagholu Neru and Genovèse, which are added to traditional Corsican varieties such as Sciaccarellu , the Niellucciu and the Vermentino. Together with Patrick Fioramonti, director and sommelier of the Hotel Cala Rossa, Yves Canarelli replanted from 2010 the first clos of Bonifacio on a plateau overlooking the city, rich in a rare limestone on the island: Tarra di dream The estate has been certified in organic farming since 2002 and in biodynamics since 2006.
Clos Canarelli Rouge is a blend of Niellucciu (80%) complemented by Sciaccarellu, Carcagholu Neru and Syrah , grown on a granitic soil. The harvest is completely destemmed and then picked once a day during fermentation. Breeding lasts from 14 to 18 months in foudres .
