THE TOPS OF THE TERTRE 2018
The Château du Tertre is located in Margaux in Bordeaux . It was classified as Fifth Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification of Médoc and Graves. It is one of the oldest properties in Bordeaux, dating back over 1,000 years and its 52 hectares of vines have remained unchanged since. Château du Tertre is located on one of the highest outcrops in the Médoc. The vineyards are partially biodynamic , with more being converted. Château du Tertre was one of the first Médoc estates to use small concrete egg-shaped vats to vinify its wines.
Les Hauts du Tertre is the Second Wine of Château du Tertre, resulting from a plot selection of young vines. The grapes are all hand-harvested and vinified in a mixture of wood, steel and concrete before being aged in French oak barrels.
