CLOS MARIE - L'Olivette - Pic Saint Loup 2020
Le Clos Marie is located in Languedoc , within the Pic-Saint-Loup appellation. The wine estate was created in 1995 by Christophe Peyrus and Françoise Julien , his wife. They inherited parcels of vines from Françoise's grandmother, Marie Julien, who gave her name to the estate. The vineyard of about twenty hectares is conducted in biodynamic agriculture . They planted many autochthonous grape varieties in mass selection, while preserving the traditional Languedocian grape varieties.
L'Olivette is a blend of Grenache (60%), Syrah (30%) and Cinsault (10%) , planted in old olive groves and harvested manually. The harvest is partially de-stemmed then put in vatting for a long period with pumping over. The Olivette 2020 is raised entirely in amphorae .
