Fattoria Le Pupille - Morellino di Scansano Reserve 2020

Fattoria Le Pupille is located in Grosseto, in the Maremma region of Italy . The owner Elisabetta Geppetti is known as the "Lady of Morellino" and the ambassador of the Maremma. In 1992, she became head of the Consorzio de Morellino di Scansano, the association of winegrowers and wine producers in the region. She was the first woman to obtain this position in an Italian wine region. The estate has 75 hectares of vines, the core of which is located around the village of Peretta. Twenty hectares are dedicated to olive trees, then cereals and cork oaks alternate with pastures reaching up to 420 hectares of global ownership.

The Morellino di Scansano Riserva is a blend of Sangiovese (90%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) . Aging lasts 25 to 30 days in stainless steel tanks, then the wine is aged for 15 months in Slavonian oak barrels of 20 to 40 hectoliters.
