Château Tour de Marbuzet is located in Saint-Estèphe , in the Médoc in the Bordeaux region. It was originally part of the large Château MacCarthy estate, divided up and sold in 1854 to Mr. Laurent Mathé, a renowned winegrower of his time. In 1981, it was bought by Henri Duboscq . Classified as Cru Bourgeois in 1932, Château Tour de Marbuzet was elevated to the rank of Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in the official 2003 list. It is close to Château Haut-Marbuzet and benefits from the same production techniques. Its 4 hectares benefit from a superior terroir of deep gravel covering a clay-limestone subsoil. The vines are planted with Merlot (40%), Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) and Cabernet Franc (20%).
Château Tour de Marbuzet is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc . The harvest is manual, allowing a controlled selection of the grapes. After complete destemming, fermentation begins with native yeasts with a long maceration at high temperature and daily pumping over. The wine is aged in new barrels (25%) and wooden vats (75%).
