Château LA CONSEILLANTE - Magnum 1991
Château La Conseillante is located in the Pomerol appellation on the border with Saint-Émilion in Bordeaux . The Château is neighboring L'Evangile and Vieux Château Certan in Pomerol, and Cheval Blanc. Château La Conseillante dates back to the mid-18th century, when it was managed by Catherine Conseillan. It has belonged to the Nicolas family since 1871. Since 2003, Bertrand and Jean-Valmy Nicolas, representing the fifth generation, have written a new chapter in the history of the estate. Today they manage the estate in an ever more eco-responsible and sustainable manner. The La Conseillante vineyard extends over 12 hectares, made up of sixteen plots, the oldest of which was planted in 1958.
The 1991 vintage for Bordeaux experienced severe spring frosts, and very low temperatures caused significant damage to the vineyards. Summer arrived and the weather improved, but then extremely heavy rains hit in September and October. The flood caused the development of diseases in several appellations.
