Château LA CONSEILLANTE - Magnum 1994
Château La Conseillante is located in the Pomerol appellation on the border with Saint-Émilion in Bordeaux . The Château is neighboring L'Evangile and Vieux Château Certan in Pomerol, and Cheval Blanc. Château La Conseillante dates back to the mid-18th century, when it was managed by Catherine Conseillan. It has belonged to the Nicolas family since 1871. Since 2003, Bertrand and Jean-Valmy Nicolas, representing the fifth generation, have written a new chapter in the history of the estate. Today they manage the estate in an ever more eco-responsible and sustainable manner. The La Conseillante vineyard extends over 12 hectares, made up of sixteen plots, the oldest of which was planted in 1958.
The 1994 vintage in Bordeaux had a wet April, but the spring was ideal and led to early flowering. The summer was hot and sunny until a deluge hit on September 7, and continuing through the rest of the month, but conditions were too cool to encourage rot. Careful grape selection was crucial to avoid overly diluted berries.
Grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Franc
