Domaine Roc d'Anglade - White 2003
Roc d'Anglade is located in Langlade in the Gard . The village of Langlade has a Grand Cru wine tradition. In the 19th century, before the destruction of the vineyard by phylloxera, the village of 650 inhabitants had 165 winegrowers and 625 hectares of vines. Roc d'Anglade was created in 1999 and became the 3rd property of the modern era of the Cru. The vines, grown organically by Rémy and Martine Pédréno , extend over 7.5 hectares. The terroir is clay-siliceous on limestone marl, facing due north.
Roc d'Anglade blanc is a blend of Chenin Blanc (65%), Chardonnay (20%), Grenache Blanc et Gris (15%) and Carignan Blanc with an average age of 20 years. The harvest is manual and fermentation begins with native yeasts, in demi-muids . Aging lasts 12 months on fine lees then 6 months in stainless steel vats.
