Giuseppe Cortese - Barbera d'Alba - Morassina 2017
Giuseppe Cortese is located in Barbaresco, in the Piedmont region of Italy . The Cortese family has been producing wine in Barbaresco for generations, but it was Giuseppe Cortese who established the family wine business in 1971. The original Rabajà vineyard spans south-facing hillsides with limestone soils. Production was then expanded with the purchase of vineyards in Trifolera, allowing the estate to expand its range.
Barbera Morassina is made from Barbera from a 1 hectare vineyard located between 200 and 330 meters above sea level. The vines are grown on limestone and clay soil, rich in minerals. The average age of the vines is 45 years. The wine is aged for 18 months in 17 hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels . It is left to rest for 6 months in the bottle before being marketed.
