Domaine Rostaing - Côte Rôtie - Ampodium 2021
Domaine Rostaing is located in Ampuis, in the Côte-Rôtie region in the northern Rhône . It was founded by René Rostaing in 1971. At that time, the 1.5 hectare vineyard was divided between Côte Blonde and La Landonne. After a few acquisitions, notably by purchasing plots from his uncle and his father-in-law, the vineyard today extends over 7 hectares in Côte-Rôtie, and 1 hectare in Condrieu. René Rostaing's son, Pierre, also makes wines in Collines Rhodaniennes, as well as the Puech Noble vintage from an estate located in Languedoc .
Ampodium is a blend of Syrah (99.5%) and Viognier (0.5%) from vines located in 13 localities. Aging lasts 24 months in 228 liter Burgundy barrels and 600 liter demi-muids, with a small proportion of new wood.
