The Free Fields - White 2022
Château Grand Village is a Bordeaux Supérieur located in Mouillac, north of Fronsac, in Bordeaux . It is owned by the Guinaudeau family , owners of Château Lafleur , the Grand Cru of Pomerol. The family has been established in the region since the 17th century, but the first vintage of Grand Village was not produced until 1980. The 17.8 hectare vineyard is planted primarily with red grape varieties (14 hectares), with a small plot where Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon are grown. Château Grand Village uses the same vineyard cultivation techniques as those used at Château Lafleur.
Starting with the 2013 vintage, a new cuvée produced exclusively from clones of Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre was bottled. Les Champs Libres , from a plot called Les Acacias, is a tiny production that demonstrates the exceptional quality of the terroir and the talent and ambition of the Grand Village team. The wine is fermented and aged entirely in new Taransaud barrels .
Grape variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
