Champagne Chartogne Taillet - Cuvée Sainte Anne "Storm"
Champagne Chartogne-Taillet is located in Merfy , in the Montagne de Reims in Champagne . The estate has existed since 1683, when the Taillet family began cultivating vines in Merfy. It is still a family estate, managed by Alexandre Chartogne-Taillet since 2006. The 11 hectares of the vineyard are divided into 13 separate plots on a clay-sand terroir. Alexandre Chartogne-Taillet uses organic farming methods and has abandoned the application of synthetic herbicides, but is not certified.
The Sainte-Anne “Tempête” cuvée comes from the 2021 vintage, the year in which a tornado destroyed part of the estate's harvest. It is therefore the result of blending Chardonnay grapes from the villages of Merfy and Avize vinified in 1 to 3 year old barrels. It was disgorged in July 2024 and bottled with an Extra-Brut dosage of 2.5 g/L .
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
