Chateau Le Châtelet - Saint Emilion Grand Cru 2014
Château Le Châtelet is located in Saint-Émilion , on the right bank of the Bordeaux wine region. The family estate is now managed by Julien Berjal . The Château Le Châtelet vineyard is located on one of the best terroirs on the Saint-Émilion plateau, predominantly clay-limestone with a thin layer of clay on a tributary bedrock. The vines are cultivated on 3.18 hectares and yields are deliberately kept low in order to improve the balance of concentration and all the compounds.
Château Le Châtelet 2014 is a blend of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%) . After the manual harvest, the harvest is sorted on a vibrating sorting table. Vinification is carried out in cement vats, open stainless steel vats and in barrels. Vatting lasts 4 weeks with gentle extractions. The wine is aged for 12 to 18 months in new barrels (50%) and in barrels of one wine (50%) .
Grape varieties: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc
